Group blasts Governor Dickson over attack on ex-President Jonathan

- The Save Ijaw Nation Group accused Governor Seriake Dickson of hiding the truth behind his anger with Goodluck Jonathan

- The group urged Nigerians to continue to celebrate the legacies left behind by the Jonathan administration

The Save Ijaw Nation Group (SING) has condemned Governor Seriake Dickson for calling the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan a waste to the Ijaw nation.

The group said it was unfair that Dickson could make such a statement when he knows that Jonathan was not the president of the Ijaw nation but of Nigeria.

In the statement obtained by and signed by its Bayelsa state coordinator, Comrade Otobo Osborn, the organisation said Dickson’s statement was uncharitable to Jonathan.

The statement release in Abuja said: “We are of the opinion that Governor Dickson is not telling us the real issues he has with former President Jonathan.

We also need to remind him that Dr Jonathan’s qualities and the good that his administration attracted to the Ijaw nation is more than whatever Governor Dickson may consider as unfair to the Ijaw Nation.”

According to SING, it is disheartening that the governor could join Jonathan’s critics just because the latter is no longer in power.

It urged Nigerians to continue to appreciate the achievements of the former president who was elected to spread development across the country.

we had earlier reported that Governor Seriake Dickson while speaking at a ceremony to honour the late Bayelsan hero, Major Adaka Boro, also revealed that during the administration of Jonathan, ministers and other presidential aides from Bayelsa were strictly after selfish interests.

This, according to him, made the state and the Ijaw nation lose the unique opportunity of attracting development.
